An honest blog about life as I see it and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
A note from the author
I’ve been writing for nearly as many years as I’ve been alive. Though my writing style has changed, many of my beliefs have not.
When I was younger, I refused to fit into a box of any kind. I didn’t follow rules determined by gender. I spent a lot of energy fighting against social injustices, trying to break the glass ceiling placed above me at birth.
In 2002 I became the mother to a colicky baby girl and, from the moment she quit crying non-stop and we both were able to get some sleep, I realized I owed it to her t0 raise her in a home that is honest, believes in her with everything we have, and that always has her back.
This blog is a way for me to continue to break through that ceiling. A place to question what life is about and why we blindly follow social norms. To fight back with words and champion the continued need for feminism and acceptance of those who look, act, and think differently than we do. It’s a chance for me to write about my parenting decisions, good and bad, and work through some life lessons along the way.
Whether you’re here because you’re ready to embrace the imperfect or you just need something to read while you sip your favorite beverage, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here!
